American Eagle Silver Dollars are one of the most popular bullion coins available. They are avidly purchased by both collectors and investors and the Silver Eagle is simply one of the prettiest coins you could find. The face (obverse) of the silver eagle features the Walking Liberty design by Alfred A. Weinman. This beautiful portrait of Liberty was used on the US half dollar between 1916 and 1947. The design returned to US Coins in 1986 when the US Mint started minting the US Silver Eagle Dollar.
You can find listings on individual bullion Silver Eagle coins here, brought to you by Ebay, where you can find the best prices for coins and for shipping rates. Both unc and proof coins are listed. We also have a separate page for listing Silver Eagle rolls for cost-saving bulk purchases.

The US Silver Eagle is an official silver bullion coin, authorized by Congress. Each coin contains 1 troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. The face value of the coin is 1 US Dollar, though you certainly would never want to trade it for its face value. Because the silver eagle is a coin, its value will hold a premium on the spot price of silver. This premium depends on current demand and scarcity, but it can often be as much as $5 to $6 dollars over the current silver spot price.
In addition to the standard bullion issue of the Silver Eagle, the US Mint also offers a proof version for collectors. Collectors, however, are just as likely to collect the regular bullion issue as well as the proof version.
If you are looking to buy US silver eagles, the best values are usually going to be for bulk purchases. You can often find Silver Eagles available in rolls of 20 or in what is known as a Monster Box. A Silver Eagle Monster Box would contain 500 silver coins. But while monster boxes are occasionally listed on Ebay, your best bet for buying one safely would probably be from a local coin dealer or a well known dealer online.
